If you are in and around Gatesville, TX and interested in one of the following “on-site” volunteer opportunities, Each volunteer role shows amount of “on-site” time anticipated.

Application Process

MVPS Volunteer Opportunities

Admin Assistants’ (2-3 volunteers)

  1. Assist Project Director
  2. Coordinating mail outs
  3. On-site 2-3 days a week (4 hours per day)
  4. Office Admin experience/knowledge helpful
Grant Writer/Submitter

  1. Research possible grants for the overall project
  2. Works with the Project Director to determine ones to submit
  3. Prepares the overall grant package on a per grant basis

Property Maintenance Leader

  1. Determine with Project Director required grounds maintenance schedule
  2. Lead volunteers
  3. 2 weekends per month (5-6 hours each time)
  4. Ground maintenance experience/knowledge helpful
  5. Commitment 3- 6 months


Property Maintenance Crew (4 – 5 volunteers)

  1. Perform various grounds maintenance
  2. 2 weekends per month (5-6 hours each time)

 

MVPS Project Committees

Outreach Committee (5 volunteers)

  1. Committee (Committee chairperson and 4 members) responsible for getting the word out about the MVPS project including but not limited to the media and other military/veteran organizationsin around the Killeen/Fort Hood area including but not limited to Gatesville, Waco, Temple, and Belton
  2. Works with the Fundraising and Event committees as a coordinated effort between the committees.
  3. Committee chair -On-Site – 1 dayper month (2 – 3 hours) for committee meeting with Project Director
  4. Committee Off-Site – average 20 – 25 hours per month

Fundraising Committee (5 volunteers)

  1. Committee (chairperson and 4 members) responsible for developing a plan of action related to raising the funds required to make the project a reality.
  2. Works with the Outreach Committee as a coordinated effort between the committees.
  3. Committee Chair – On-Site – 1 day per month (2 – 3 hours) for committee meeting with Project Director
  4. Committee Off-Site – average 20 –25 hours per month

Event Committee (5 volunteers)

  1. Committee (chairperson and 4 members) responsible for developing and implementing an action plan for participating in events held in and around the Killeen/Fort Hood area and “on-site” fundraising events (minimum 2 per year) at the MVP Sanctuary for raising awareness and funds for the project
  2. Works with the Outreach and Fundraising committees as a coordinated effort between the committees.
  3. Committee Chair – On-Site – 1 dayper month (2 – 3 hours) for committee meeting with Project Director
  4. Committee Off-Site – average 20 –25 hours per month
