Linda Spurlin-Dominik 

 

Linda Spurlin-DominikDaughter of Coy H. Spurlin (deceased WWII “Battle of the Bulge” Army Veteran) and widow of John T. Dominik (deceased Vietnam Era Army Veteran).  Linda has been involved with supporting our military community, veterans, their families, and their beloved pets over the past 35+ years. 


Business/Corporate Experience:

Telecommunications industry with Illinois Bell, AT&T, and Ameritech (1965 – 1990) holding positions as long distance toll operator, Marketing Service Rep, Method Developer Assistant Manager, and Associate Manager working with Project Managers, field locations in the states of IL, IN, MI, OH, and WI.  Participated and chaired various regional and national project teams during the bell system divestiture.

While working full time in the telecommunications industry and following retirement she held various positions from administrative assistant to office manager in the real estate, banking, income tax, and accounting industries between 1968 and 1997.   Prior to being put on full Social Security Disability she was Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper with Garland County CASA in Hot Springs AR.

    • Chairperson of POW/MIA committee,

    • Veteran support working with post members to ensure no veteran was forgotten.

    • Chairperson of the Hospital committee.

  • 2007 – Arkansas Governor’s Volunteer Excellence Award (750+ hours)
  • 2007 – Presidential Volunteer Service Award – Call to Service volunteer service with Soldiers’ Angels and Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet
  • 2007 – Presidential Volunteer Service Award – Gold level volunteer service with Soldiers’ Angels and Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet
  • 2006 – Presidential Volunteer Service Award – Bronze level volunteer service with the Silver Star Families of America
  • 2004 – National Special Forces Association for volunteer service as Admin Assistant to the National SFA President
  • 1996 – National Special Forces Association for volunteer service with the Operation Bank “Coast to Coast Walk”
  • 1975 – 2003 – various awards/recognition certificates for her volunteer efforts as a life member with  the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Military Order of Cooties (MOC) Auxiliary (honorary degree of the VFW veteran service organization), Women of the Moose, and American Legion Auxiliary.

 

Linda’s family consists of 2 rescue furbabys’ known as Missy Dee and Bridget Sue.
